LG 電子近日宣布在2012年前將使用一種新型的清潔鎂合金——生態(tài)鎂,以替代其手機(jī)產(chǎn)品中所采用的常規(guī)鎂材料。新材料將使壓鑄工藝中所產(chǎn)生的溫室氣體排放量減少大約24,000倍,且不影響最終產(chǎn)品的質(zhì)量。
生態(tài)鎂是由韓國(guó)產(chǎn)業(yè)技術(shù)研究院(KITECH)在韓國(guó)政府的資助下開(kāi)發(fā)的,它在生產(chǎn)過(guò)程中幾乎不產(chǎn)生六氟化硫(SF6)。六氟化硫被政府間氣候變化專門(mén)委員會(huì)(IPCC)譽(yù)為“史上最強(qiáng)大的溫室氣體之一”。通過(guò)在手機(jī)產(chǎn)品中使用生態(tài)鎂取代傳統(tǒng)鎂,每生產(chǎn)一部LG手機(jī),將會(huì)減少四公斤的二氧化碳排放量。
11月29日,LG與三家生態(tài)鎂廠商簽署了一份諒解備忘錄(MOU),這三家廠商分別是香港高科技股份有限公司(HK High-Tech Co.)、Keumgang Coen公司和Hallacast有限公司。作為協(xié)議的一部分,LG將為這三家公司提供碳信用交易實(shí)務(wù)和技術(shù)支持方面的培訓(xùn),同時(shí),三家公司將幫助LG大幅減少溫室氣體排放量,贏取寶貴的碳信用額度。

LG reduces carbon emissions in mobile production from 2012
Eco-magnesium, developed by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) with funding from the government of Korea, will replace conventional magnesium in mobile phones by 2010, thus reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 4kg for every handset produced by LG Electronics, without affecting the quality of the final product.
During production, eco-magnesium creates practically no sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), which the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) cites as one of the most potent greenhouse gases ever encountered.
At the end of last month, LG signed a memorandum of understanding with the three producers of Eco-Magnesium - HK High-Tech, Keumgang Coen and Hallacast. As part of the agreement, it will provide the three companies with training in the practice of carbon credit trading and technological support. The MOU promises to help LG greatly reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and earn valuable carbon credits.
